Born in Vilnius in 1970, baritone Mindaugas Zemaitis graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music in 1997, having been a pupil of Professor V. Noreika. He was awarded the laureate at the national competitions in Vilnius in both 1995 and 1996, also winning a prize at the International Singing Competition in Rome in 1997.
Mr. Zemaitis is a soloist with the Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theatre, and the Latvian National Opera. He has appeared as Belcore (L’Elisir d’Amore), Sharpless (Madama Butterfly) and Guglielmo (Cosi fan Tutte) among other roles. As well as appearing in concerts in his home country, he has toured in Austria, Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands with the said companies.
